Message Based Intelligent Interface Card
IIB-3910-VXI
The IIB-3910-VXI is message based intelligent interface card for dual redundant 3910 and 3838 applications. It gives full 3910 and 3838 test, simulation and bus analysis capability on the VXI bus, providing 3910, 3838 1553A, and 1553B variants in a single card. Each channel supports concurrent Bus Controller (BC) and up to 31 Remote Terminals (RT) with passive Bus Monitor, and an independent Chronological Bus Monitor (CBM). Full error injection capability is provided in BC and RT modes, with full error detection in BC, RT, BM and CBM modes. The unit provides dual redundant prEN3715 compatible 3910 interface, with variable amplitude dual redundant 3838 interfaces. External trigger-in and trigger-out are provided, with both Primary and secondary bus coupling for direct and stub bus, with access to internal 1553 bus, on the front panel.

The 1553-USB-PIU is a Portable Interface Unit providing full MIL-STD-1553 test, simulation and bus analysis capability in a compact self-contained unit, to connect via a USB interface to suitable host systems. The unit provides support for all 1553A, 1553B, McAir and STANAG 3838 variants in a self contained battery operated unit, and is supplied with a matching power supply and battery charger unit for desk-top use. The 1553-USB-PIU supports concurrent Bus Controller (BC) and up to 31 Remote Terminals (RT) with Bus Monitor (BM). An additional stand-alone Chronological Bus Monitor (CBM) facility is also provided, with comprehensive multi-level triggering capability. The Shuttle Bus cPCI is an intelligent interface card providing all Launch Data Bus, Ground Data Bus, and Multiplex De-Multiplex Multiple Remote Terminal capability to the Shuttle Bus, as required by NASA specification 84K01203 (Hardware Specification, Launch Data Bus (LDB) and Ground Data Bus (GDB) Interface Board). In summary, this card provides all features and functions required to meet the above specification, in a cPCI platform, with Simplex & Half-Duplex modes provided. Specific operational modes provided include for LDB_BCT, LDB_MRT, GDB_BCT, GDB_MRT, BUS_MON, MDM_MRT, Primitive and Calibration modes.

As the physical size of Fibre Optic Front End (FOFE) transceivers prohibits their use on PCI, CompactPCI, PMC and ISA (PC/AT) cards, Western Avionics provides an off-card Adapter, that contains all components to support the 3910 Optical implementation of STANAG 3910. The 3910-FOFE Adapter provides a complete dual redundant optical interface, together with dual redundant 3838 connections, and Trigger-in and Trigger-out in a minimal sized package, to allow convenient cabling connections to the 3910 / 3838 system or unit-under-test.
