CalEasy is a full-featured, Calibration Executive software package that supports the verification and calibration of Marvin Test Solutions instruments. The software is intended for use by users that prefer to perform in-house calibration and verification for their Marvin Test Solutions instruments. By calibrating or verifying the instrument in-house, the time and cost associated with returning an instrument to Marvin Test Solutions for calibration service can be eliminated or reduced. CalEasy is also used internally by Marvin Test Solutions production to perform initial calibration and to recalibrate the instrument when received for service. This ensures that user and factory based calibration performance is similar. Depending on the specific instrument, standards instrumentation supported for calibration / verification includes a DMM, and a frequency standards module. Some modules require the use of matrix switch card.

The GX5960 digital subsystem represents the highest level of performance available for PXI-based digital instrumentation and features high performance pin electronics and a timing generator / sequencer in a compact, 6U PXI form factor. The GX5960 series consists of the GX5961 clock generator board with 16 driver / sensor channels and the GX5964 driver / sensor board which supports 32 bi-directional I/O channels. Up to 528 digital I/O channels can be supported by the GX5960 digital subsystem. Each digital channel features a wide drive / sense voltage range of -14 V to +26 V (maximum swing of 24 volts) which can be individually programmed for a drive hi, drive lo, sense hi, sense lo, and a load value (with commutation voltage level) – offering the user complete flexibility when creating test programs and fixtures for multiple UUTs. In addition, each channel offers a parametric measurement unit (PMU) for DC measurements.

The module is completely self-contained and includes an LCD display, measurement and stimulus resources, digital I/O, relays, and switches – all of which can be accessed and monitored via the USB port using a SCPI command set via a USBTMC interface which supports the USB488 protocol. Power for the board is provided via the USB interface, providing a totally self-contained assembly which can provide users with a simple yet complete vehicle that replicates many of the stimulus and measurement functions associated with ATE systems.
