The Serial Interface Device offers a number of options for connecting to serial hardware. You can choose from Ethernet, USB, PCI, PCIe, or ExpressCard interfaces to add up to 16 serial ports to your system. You can choose from common serial protocols, such as RS232, RS422, and RS485. The Serial Interface Device also offers various isolation, hyperthreading, and multiprocessor compatibility options. Some models also support 4- and 2-wire transceiver modes for full- and half-duplex communication. PXI Vehicle Multiprotocol Interface Modules use hardware-selectable NI-XNET Transceiver Cables (TRC) to communicate High-Speed/Flexible Data‑rate CAN, Low-Speed/Fault Tolerant CAN, and/or LIN. The PXIe-1486 combines the Texas Instruments Flat Panel Display Link™ (FPD-Link™) interface with the Xilinx FPGA for high-throughput vision and imaging applications. The included FlexRIO driver, with LabVIEW FPGA examples, provides access and control for power-over-coax, I²C back-channel communication, and general-purpose input/output (GPIO) communication on the FPD-Link™ channels.
