Highly Collimated Solar Simulators
This solar simulator is based on a Fresnel lens to collimate the light beam from the arc lamp source to infinity, which results in highly collimated illumination of the target spot. A 2.5kW xenon ozone free lamp is used as the light source. The spectral distribution of the xenon light source, along with the use of specially calibrated AirMass filters, closely simulates the sun’s true spectral distribution in various conditions on Earth.

Doppler Radar Target Simulators
Automotive radar sensors play a vital role in the current development of autonomous driving. Their ability to detect objects even under adverse conditions makes them indispensable for environment-sensing tasks in autonomous vehicles. As their functional operation must be validated in-place, a fully integrated test system is required. Radar Target Simulators (RTS) are capable of executing end-of-line, over-the-air validation tests by looping back a received and afterward modified radar signal and have been incorporated into existing Vehicle-in-the-Loop (ViL) test beds before. However, the currently available ViL test beds and the RTS systems that they consist of lack the ability to generate authentic radar echoes with respect to their complexity. The paper at hand reviews the current development stage of the research as well as commercial ViL and RTS systems. Furthermore, the concept and implementation of a new test setup for the rapid prototyping and validation of ADAS functions is presented. This represents the first-ever integrated radar validation test system to comprise multiple angle-resolved radar target channels, each capable of generating multiple radar echoes. A measurement campaign that supports this claim has been conducted.

A grid simulator can be used to simulate the characteristics of low-voltage mains. For this purpose, all voltages and frequencies of the supply networks occurring worldwide can be simulated. Critical states such as short-term voltage dips or voltage peaks (surge/burst) can also be generated.The integrated sequencer function enables the generation of different network parameters, e.g. distorted waveforms and intermediate oscillations. Therefore, grid simulators are well suited for testing conformity to standards and especially for determining the behaviour of electrical equipment in borderline situations. PXI RTD Simulator Module 6-Channel PT1000

The 40-262 is a 3U PXI module range that supports 6 (in one slot), 12 or 18 (in two slots) channels of RTD simulation. Based on the 40-260 design principles the module can provide a setting resolution of <8mΩ (PT100) or <90mΩ (PT1000) and a resistance accuracy of better than 0.1% on all channels. Each simulation channel is able to provide a short or open circuit setting to simulate faulty wiring connections to a sensor. Calibration or verification of each resistor channel can be verified by using the calibration port connected to a high performance DMM and a supplied software package.
