The unique magnetic coupling action eliminates seals, diaphragms, springs, and torque tubes common to other level switching alternatives since there is no physical contact with the process fluid. The magnetic coupling also eliminates process connections to the switch; therefore, no isolation valves are required to block off the switch for maintenance. The DPM-3 is a smart Plug & Play TEDS IEEE 1451.4 compliant Digital Panel Mount Load Cell meter. Just plug in a TEDS compatible Load Cell or Torque Sensor and the DPM-3 will automatically self-calibrate. When used with a non-TEDS Load Cell or Torque Sensor, the DPM-3 can be set up by simple front panel push buttons. The DPM-3 can be scaled to a full 5 digit display from 0 to 99,999 counts to read directly in engineering units such as grams, ounces, pounds, etc. The DPM-3 samples 60 readings per second (50 for 50Hz operation) for fast control response and true peak/valley reading capability. The meter has an adaptive digital filter that can automatically select the best time constant for minimum noise, yet respond rapidly to an actual change in signal level. The peak and valley values can be displayed by a push of a button on the front panel. Auto-tare allows the meter to be set to zero for any input signal level. Available options include dual relays, analog output, serial communications, and low voltage power supply.

This approach allows the vehicle to be evaluated under "optimum" operational conditions; whereby torque is distributed to the vehicle's tires in the same manner that would normally occur when a vehicle has equal traction at all four drive wheels, and is therefore operating at peak efficiency.

Eddy-Current Brake Dynamometers (WB Series) are ideal for applications requiring high speeds and also when operating in the middle to high power range. Eddy-Current Brakes provide increasing torque as the speed increases, reaching peak torque at rated speed. The dynamometers have low inertia as a result of small rotor diameter. Brake cooling is provided by a water circulation system, which passes inside the stator to dissipate heat generated by the braking power. The water cooling in the WB provides high continuous power ratings (max. 140 kW). The WB dynamometers have accuracy ratings of 0.3% to 0.5% full scale ( 2% for WB 2.7), depending on size and system configuration.
