The InfraCal Model ATR-SP is recommended for measuring oil in water, TPH in soil or FOG in wastewater concentration levels when using hexane, pentane or Vertrel MCA as the extracting solvent. Insulation materials in electrical equipment are used between a pair of electrodes; therefore it can be expressed as capacitors. Applying AC voltage to a capacitor with insulation materials causes an energy loss due to the leak current, the dielectric polarization, and the partial discharge. Because of this, the phase of the capacitor current is more delayed than that of a zero-loss current (reactive current) flowing in an ideal insulation material. The delay angle is called "Dielectric Loss Angle", and the tangent is "Dielectric Loss Tangent" (tanδ). Please refer to the technical guide explained in detail.

The Oil Tan Delta (OTD) is a laboratory instrument, which measures the Tan Delta, Resistivity and Relative Permittivity of insulating liquids. These tests give a wider picture of the overall quality of the insulating oil, and will indicate if there is any contamination. Megger has developed features of the OTD to ensure that productivity levels within laboratories are maximised. The microprocessor controlled inductive heater means that there is uniformity of temperature throughout the cell, in compliance with IEC 60247, and for cooling a fan effectively speeds up the cell cooling time. The instrument has a temperature measuring range of 10 to 110 C, with an accuracy of 1 C. It can be set to preheat before testing takes place. The automated oil drain facility negates the need to move the oil vessel. User safety is paramount and with this in mind, Megger have designed independent and dual redundant high voltage cut-off circuitry. If for any reason the user needs to abort the test, this can be done so by pressing any key, immediately terminating the test and removing the high voltage. The design of the cell components maximise oil fill rate but minimise turbulence in oil flow and eliminate trapping of air. With only 32 cell components, it is easy to assemble and disassemble.

The esi SR1030 transfer standards consist of 12 equal steps. These steps are available in increments of 1 (SR1030-1), 10 (SR1030-10), 100 (SR1030-100), 1k (SR1030-1k), 10k (SR1030-10k) and 100k (SR1030-100k). The esi SR1030 provides four-terminal connections for each step or for series and parallel combinations of these resistance steps using the optional Series-Parallel (SPC102), Parallel Compensation Networks (PC101) and shorting bars (SB103). This improves power dissipation, stability and errors due to variance in temperature. The esi SR1010 and esi SR1030 are used for the same applications and are alike in configuration. The esi SR1030 differs from the esi SR1010 in that it is specially sealed, and values below 100 k are filled with oil to improve changes due to thermal variations.
