VDI''s VNA Extenders deliver high performance network analyzer frequency extension into the THz range. Models cover 50 GHz to 1,100GHz with additional bands in development. VDI modules come in a variety of form factors and configurations including our original Standard-size Modules and new Mini Modules that reduce volume up to 75%. In addition to our full Transceiver (TxRx) modules, VDI also offers Transmit-Reference (TxRef) modules and Receive only (Rx) modules that deliver optimized performance for specific applications. These modules combine high test port power and exceptional dynamic range to deliver industry leading performance. They are compatible with most network analyzers and can be integrated into probe stations and antenna chambers.

Compact Receiver Module
MixAMC-I
Virginia Diodes'' standard Spectrum Analyzer Extension Modules (SAXs) provide high performance broadband down-conversion and frequency extension of microwave specturm analyzers into the THz range. VDI now offers integrated MixAMC modules that provide industry leading performance in a compact package. These integrated MixAMC modules are used to down-convert millimeter-wave / THz signals only. Spectrum Analyzer Extension mode is not currently available for the MixAMC-I products. Integrated MixAMC modules utilize a low frequency LO input (<20 GHz) and have a seprate IF output port. Integrated MixAMC modules configured for high IF bandwidth may be available upon request.

The new FemtoFiber dichro midIR represents an ideal laser source for mid-infrared spectroscopy and imaging. It provides a tunable broadband output in the wavelength range of 5 to 15 m (20 - 60 THz, 670 - 2000 cm-1). The unique 400 cm-1 broad emission spectra allow to excite a wide range of materials at the same time. The air-cooled system is based on TOPTICAs proprietary fiber laser technologies and includes a difference frequency generation (DFG) unit as well as all necessary electronics into the same box. All functions and features are computer controllable by Ethernet or USB interfaces.

Pyroelectric Detectors
Pyroelectric detectors are thermal detectors; i.e. they create an electric signal due to temperature changes in the chip. This temperature change is caused by absorption of light. We do use LiTaO3 and DLaTGS as pyroelectric materials. Basically such detectors cover the whole spectra. However, they are mainly used for mid-wave and long-wave infrared detection (MWIR and LWIR).
