SonarMite 'Plus' App
The SonarMite+ App is based on the free SonarMite App but offering additional features. The software is an Android App designed to work with the popular SonarMite Bluetooth Echo Sounder used in hydrographic surveying applications. With the demise of Hyperterminal as a standard terminal application the end user is left with little choice for a simple communications program with serial data devices. Connecting via Bluetooth is cleaner than USB cable, there are no wires and the connection is independent of baud rate and other serial port settings. Most terminal programs are not easily configured with commands to directly interface with instruments such as SonarMite.

Users of Trimble Construction Siteworks software are now able to easily measure water depth and execute accurate small-scale hydrographic surveys. Ohmex Ltd has made use of the Siteworks Software Developers Kit (SDK) to produce a software utility that runs on the controller and supplies depth data to Siteworks. This increment in functionality further enhances the use of the Siteworks system on marine construction sites where dams or waterways are present.The concept of the Sonar extension to Siteworks is to enable the construction user to execute simple Hydrographic surveys using their Siteworks software together with existing positioning equipment, no need to learn another package or convert to new reporting facilities, the sonar effectively behaves as an extension to the existing survey detail pole for measuring water depth. The software is an inter-application package with both the Siteworks and SonarMite applications running concurrently on a Windows 10 Tablet or PC platform. The SeaBat 7160 transducer array is comprised of linear receive and transmit arrays mounted together on a support base. The T-shaped array geometry provides the basis for a compact, high-resolution sonar which is easily installed for portable or hull mounts – a first for a high-resolution system in this frequency range. The system features a pitch-stabilized transmitter and an active roll compensated receiver.

HydroSweep DS
The HydroSweep DS is a deep water multiebeam echosounder ideally suited for seabed mapping in deep water up to full ocean depth based on a sonar frequency between 14 kHz to 16 kHz. Beside bathymetric depth information from 10 m to more than 11,000 m, sidescan data and backscatter data for seabed classification are acquired. The HydroSweep DS does not only gather sea floor information, but also uses adaptive bottom tracking windows to identify sonar targets in the water column and can be optionally operated as a parametric sub-bottom profiler without additional transducers and electronics.
