Using the Limit Analysis features of the Nelson Acoustic Trident software, users can set noise emission maximum, minimum or control range criteria based on Awtd and/or 1/N octave band criteria. Criteria can be customized for most any type of product based on the noise emissions of known good and bad units. The large front panel Pass/Fail indicator allows operators to quickly determine if units meet the criteria. Data on units that fail can be exported for further analysis.

Working in conjunction with the TRsSim software on a PC, the AI-5120 becomes a valuable tool in analyzing and debugging Caller ID and SMS (Short Message Service) data transmission. The Line EMI Meter measures electromagnetic interference in a single-phase AC power line. It plugs into a wall outlet (mains socket) and requires no battery. It immediately displays total line noise in millivolts (range 1999 mV, resolution 1 mV) in the frequency range 10 KHz 10 MHz (the frequency limits at which sensitivity is of the maximum sensitivity). A speaker plays the sound of the EMI, amplitude demodulated, in order to identify the EMI source (such as an AM or shortwave radio station vs. a motor vs. an electric arc).
