The unit is compact and lightweight. The basic system is 7″ wide by 2.5″ high and 12″ long. When measurements are needed below approximately 100 micro-ohm-centimeters, the basic system is piggybacked onto a second enclosure that houses a power amplifier with a current gain of ten. The combined unit measures 7″ wide by 5″ high and 12″ long. The combined unit weighs 11.5 pounds. Two short cables interconnect the two enclosures for powering the power amplifier and routing the signals to the fixture or four point probe. The front panel of the basic system includes a 32-character backlit LCD display and a set of function keys. An easy-to-use menu will allow access to user defined parameters such as sample thickness, sample volume, and calibration constants; upper and lower alarm limits, relative measurements, and several others.

The RkP-400 Series probes consist of a compact head containing the detector and a preamplifier housed in a separate enclosure. The external dimensions of all the 400 Series Probes are the same, with identical detector planes, allowing for easy interchange of probes in an experiment. The heads have both ¼-20 and M6 tapped holes, a built-in 1” (25mm) filter holder, and a side-mounted BNC connector. Probe specific data, including spectral response curves and calibration dates, is stored in the preamplifier for access by the instruments.

The 9025 is a 25 module receiver designed to fit into a standard 19" rack. This model is equipped with a telescopic handle on the left side. This handle is designed to rest flush against the side of the receiver as a standard handle, or can be extended out to the left up to 3" to accommodate a larger ITA enclosure or other obstruction that may prevent normal handle operation/ engagement.As with the standard 9025, a microswitch is included. Mounting flanges and an instrument bracket are also included for slide mounting. A slide kit is required, but not included. These units are housed in a heavy metal enclosure, making them the most "rugged" force gauges available -- perfect for testing and lab conditions. All force gauges are able to capture the peak force in both tension and compression and have selectable units of measurement. Force gauge capacities are available for the various requirements, we offer 50N, 200N, 500N and 1000N models in the PFI Series and the AFI Series. ED&D force gauges may be handheld or used with a test stand and/or gripping fixture to create a complete testing solution. All force gauges are CE marked. They come in a custom padded carrying case, includes batteries and an adaptor, as well as a disc accessory attachment, hook attachment, extension rod, metric extension rod, and screws used for mounting gauge to a test stand or use with the gripping fixtures. Available exclusively from ED&D are the attachment finger probes and force discs for testing accessibility as well as stability limits. Torque testing is a way of determining how something will react when it is being turned during operation or twisted to failure - when a force is applied to it in torque. Torque is a turning force, measured in units of force multiplied by unit length. 10Nm, for example, indicates a force of 1kg acting at 1 meter away from the center of rotation. The imperial equivalent of this would be 0.738lbf.ft (pound-feet).

The different IK ratings relate to the ability of an enclosure to resist impact energy levels measured in joules (J).
