All channels provide for voltage division ahead of transient suppression before going into the S&H ICs. Channels that are sampled and held use a common sample and hold pulse that samples while high and holds while low. Jumpers on each S&H chip allow buffering of analog signals where sample and holds are not required. An advantage to the buffers is that it provides a high input impedance for high impedance voltage dividers.

The 7406e low profile PCI Express serial interface provides four RS-232 serial ports. For maximum compatibility with a wide range of peripherals, the board supports all standard RS-232 modem control signals. The serial ports utilize a 16C954 UART with 128-byte Tx/Rx FIFOs that enables data rates to 921.6K bps for reliable high-speed communications in data intensive applications. This high-performance UART includes 9-bit framing support and is fully software compatible with legacy 16550 applications. In addition, the board derives a 62.5 MHz clock from the PCI Express link. This ultra-high speed clock is divided by a flexible 8-bit clock prescalar with 1/8 steps to provide support for the widest range of standard and non-standard baud rates.

The N7909A power dissipater unit adds current sinking or two-quadrant operation to any Advanced Power System (APS) N6900A or N7900A power supply. Each N7909A provides up to 1 kW of current sinking capability to an APS power supply, so you will need two N7909As to achieve full two-quadrant operation of a 2-kW APS supply. You can use a single N7909A unit with a 2-kW APS power supply to achieve 50% current sinking capability. The N7909A form factor is 1U and full rack width. N7909A connects to an APS power supply via a two-wire power connection and a communication connection to provide continuous two-quadrant operation. The connections are located on the rear panel of both the N7909A and the supply.

NGR Sensing Resistors are attached in parallel to the neutral grounding resistor. The sensing resistor allows a protective relay to detect a resistor failure in a continuous manner. Sensing Resistors are used in combination with neutral grounding resistor monitor relays. The relay measures neutral grounding resistance, neutral grounding resistor current and neutral to ground voltage. The relay continuously measures neutral grounding resistor ohmic value in an unfaulted system and it trips on if neutral grounding resistance varies from its calibrated value.

ADLINK"s PCIe-7248/7296 are high-density parallel digital I/O boards with 96/48 I/O channels. The header connectors are fully compatible with industry Opto-22 standard. Thus, PCIe-7248/7296 can utilize the Opto-22 external devices. The PCIe-7248/7296 devices emulate mode 0 of the industry standard 8255 programmable peripheral interface (PPI) chips. The PCIe-7248/7296 provides 4/2 PPI chips respectively. Each PPI offers three 8-bit ports: Port A, Port B and Port C. The Port C is divided into 2 nibble-wide (4-bit) ports. The PCIe-7248/7296 devices have programmable timer/counters. One 16-bit counter is available for event counting, while the other 32-bit timer is available for timed interrupt generation. The PCIe-7248/7296 devices provide multiple programmable interrupt sources from DIO channels, as well as the output of the timer.
