Digital I/O Module
The GX5960 digital subsystem represents the highest level of performance available for PXI-based digital instrumentation and features high performance pin electronics and a timing generator / sequencer in a compact, 6U PXI form factor. The GX5960 series consists of the GX5961 clock generator board with 16 driver / sensor channels and the GX5964 driver / sensor board which supports 32 bi-directional I/O channels. Up to 528 digital I/O channels can be supported by the GX5960 digital subsystem. Each digital channel features a wide drive / sense voltage range of -14 V to +26 V (maximum swing of 24 volts) which can be individually programmed for a drive hi, drive lo, sense hi, sense lo, and a load value (with commutation voltage level) – offering the user complete flexibility when creating test programs and fixtures for multiple UUTs. In addition, each channel offers a parametric measurement unit (PMU) for DC measurements.

The gyro simulator built into the panel is usable for either radar being tested and eliminate's plugging in any external simulator. The features for both product lines as shown in their respecting CMM's are provided on the panel so that full testing and alignment of these radars and their system components can be tested and/or evaluated. Designed to provide factory assembly line conveyor based pneumatically actuated full test automation. Interchangeable pneumatics and manual lever options provide operation as a fully automated tester or as a manual bench top tester. These functional interchangeable options allow this fixture to grow with you as your production volumes increase. Test plate changeover is a quick 2 minute job. 4 thumbscrews to change the bottom plate and 4 SHC screws to change the top plate. The top plate drops down and slides out with the connector assembly. The bottom plate lifts up and out. The new plates slide back in. All rear panel connectors are mounted to the aluminum bracket on the top plate. This whole top plate assembly slides out together eliminating wiring hassles. Double sided access plate sets use transfer pins to get the signals from the bottom plate up to the top plate.

Test Coach offers Design for Test (DFT) consulting to assist customers with design review of prototype boards prior to release for production. Design for Test analysis is extremely important in ensuring that an assembly will achieve the highest possible test coverage. For ICT, this DFT will review the board to confirm that the bed-of-nails test fixture can be fabricated to test an assembly without sacrificing test coverage. As with ICT, Flying Probe benefits from DFT analysis by reviewing test point access and mechanical challenges that may affect the potential test coverage. Completing a DFT enables Test Coach to make recommendations to our customers that may be implemented on boards during the design phase which will allow for the most comprehensive coverage at time of test.

The 16196A surface mount devices (SMD) test fixture offers excellent repeatability and usability, with accurate correlation up to 3 GHz. 16196 series fixtures are custom designed to fit specific SMD sizes (see table below), and provide repeatable DUT positioning with reliable contacts to enable stable measurement results - reducing the possibility of operator-induced error. Traditionally, SMD inductor evaluation up to 3 GHz has been difficult to implement - now with the 16196 series, it’s easy to perform accurate and repeatable measurements.
