With the lower unit cost, more test systems can be made available. Having more testers provides redundancy and higher throughput and allows duplication of the same test process in house by the customer. This means the customer can effectively handle warranty return issues on the spot (the retest results get tied to the original test results for warranty analysis). It also allows customers to do sample based quality assurance.
