Fiber Splitters & WDMs
-
Wuhan Sunma Technology Co., Ltd.
Optical Splitter is used to split the fiber optic light into several parts at a certain ratio. It is an important component used in Passive Optical Network (PON), therefore also called PON Splitter. There are mainly two kinds of PON splitters: one is the traditional fused type splitter known as FBT Coupler or FBT WDM splitter, which features competitive price; the other is the PLC Splitter based on the PLC (Planar Lightwave Circuit) technology, which has a compact size and suits for density applications. SunmaFiber provides both PLC splitters and FBT coupler splitters for EPON/GPON Systems.

Optical Fiber Microscope
-
Connector-end face contamination is a problem that shouldn’t be ignored when it comes to fiber optic cables and patch cords. Allowing contamination to take place or fester will lead to network issues and down-time which you don’t need. For any fiber optic cable network, a high quality fiber microscope is a necessary tool to identify where contamination may be presenting.

Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier
EDFA
-
EDFAs are based on the light amplification in erbium-doped fiber, which are optically pumped by means of 980 nm or 1480 nm light sources. In this way, the light of a larger wavelength within the C or L band applied to the input of the amplifier is amplified, thus widening the range of optical communication links. EDFAs typically operate in saturation and the average signal power determines the average gain. The dynamics of EDFA are unaffected by the sequence and dynamics of a digital signal or channel interaction in DWDM systems. As a result, multiple channels can be bundled within the total erbium spectral amplification bandwidth. However, the total average output power in both cases is determined by the saturation power of the specific EDFA.

Fiber End Face Interferometer
-
Thorlabs' GL16 End Face Interferometer measures and images the end face geometry of single- and multi-fiber connectors. A non-contact technique called scanning white-light interferometry (SWLI) provides high accuracy, repeatability, and reliability for fiber connector testing, particularly for pass/fail testing using IEC or Telcordia requirements. The system can be controlled locally through the touchscreen display or remotely through a browser-based application (see Software tab for details), allowing it to be easily integrated on the production floor.

Dual Fiber Transceivers
-
The benefits and overall savings on a single strand (simplex) versusdual strand (duplex) fiber implementation can be considerable.Considerations include not only the cost of fiber optic cabling itself, but also the labor and material involved in terminating the endpoints, simplex versus duplex patch cords, cross-connect rack space, reducedpoints of failure, and other direct and indirect costs. This technologycan also defer the need to install new fiber to support unexpectedgrowth requirements.
