Manual Oscillators
MOS-01, -01A
The MOS-01 manual oscillator module is used as a quality, general-purpose sinewave oscillator and digital readout monitoring system in the MAC-01, -02, or -03 AC Power Sources/Frequency Converters. The unit has guaranteed operating range of 20 HZ to 20 KHZ which is covered in three one-decade scales. The LCD digital metering system is switch-selectable to readout either frequency, voltage or current. A toggle switch selects the input for the attached AC Power Source/Frequency Converter to originate from the manual oscillator itself or from an external laboratory or programmable oscillator source. With oscillator mode switch in Internal position, the BNC connector delivers the signal to drive additional slave units or for oscilloscope sync or monitoring. BNC input/output is completely isolated with 1500 VAC breakdown and excellent common mode rejection. The oscillator modules must be factory installed and calibrated.

A TCXO is a emperature compensated crystal oscillator. The basic building block for a TCXO is a VCXO with approximately 50 ppm deviation range and a temperature sensitive network. This temperature sensitive network (temperature compensation circuit) applies a voltage to the varactor diode that corrects the frequency of the VCXO at any temperature within the operating temperature range.

A VCXO Voltage-Controlled Crystal Oscillator is a crystal oscillator that''s frequency can be adjusted by an externally applied voltage. VCXO''s have a wide variety of applications in frequency modulation (FM) and phase-locked-loop (PLL) systems. Typical deviation ranges can be 10 ppm to as much as 2000 ppm. The device that allows a crystal oscillator''s frequency to be voltage controlled is known as a varactor diode.

Phase Locked Oscillators
Phase locked oscillators (PLO) utilize state-of-the-art planar circuits, three-terminal devices and dielectric resonator technology to generate high-quality microwave signals at lower frequencies. Frequency multipliers, amplifiers and filters are used to extend the low frequencies for higher frequency requirements. The standard offering covers the frequency range of 2 to 110 GHz and provides both internal and external reference options. The frequency stability and phase noise are dependent on the oscillator reference type.

The oscillators are specially designed for a broader tuning bandwidth and an electrical tuning capability.
