The Modal Shop’s modal shakers are a proven solution in test laboratories around the world. With force ratings from 4.5 to 100 lbf (20 to 440 N), these shakers are suitable for a wide range of modal analysis applications. When performing experimental modal analysis and structural testing, the choice of excitation function and system will make the difference between a good measurement and a poor one. For many applications, an electrodynamic shaker system is the ideal choice. The Modal Shop’s line of modal shakers is designed to be highly portable, rugged and easy to set up in order to facilitate the best testing results. The exciter size allows a diversity of placement locations relative to the test structure, while minimizing any unwanted interaction between the exciter and test structure.

Link-style sensors measure dynamic compression and tension. They are constructed using a force ring that is under compressive pre-load between threaded mounting hardware. The threaded mounting on both ends of the sensor supports integrated link-style installations. Versions offering full-scale measurements of 10 lb to 50k lb (45 N to 220k N) compression and 30k lb (130k N) tension are available.

This high-resolution dynamic alternative to bond foil strain gauges uses a quartz sensing element in a durable, titanium housing. It has 0.0006 microstrain resolution, 5 volt output, 100k Hz frequency response and 0.5 gram mass for lightweight test articles. The reusable sensor comes with a calibration certificate, attaches to the test specimen in 60 seconds and is removed in 10 seconds.
