Conduction Cooled XMC Interface Board with PCI Express Host Interface, Supporting up to 4 PX Modules, 2 RTx 5 Channel Modules, 1 Discrete & 1 Serial Module
EXC-8000ccXMC
-
The EXC-8000ccXMC is part of Excalibur’s 8000 family of multiprotocol boards. This conduction cooled XMC interface board has a PCI Express host interface and supports up to 4 Px modules, 2 RTx 5 channel modules, 1 Discrete and 1 Serial module. Due to the constraints of the XMC specification the modules are integrated onto the board itself rather than as physically separate modules. The EXC-8000ccXMC supports Direct Memory Access (DMA), which enables the board to access system memory for reading and writing independently of the computer’s CPU. This results in faster data transfer to and from modules that support DMA, with much less CPU overhead than when not using DMA.

Multichannel Memory-Mapped ARINC 708/453 Interface Card
EXC-708mPCIe
Interface Card
The EXC-708mPCIe is a multichannel, memory-mapped ARINC 708/453 interface card that supports two ARINC 708/453 channels, each programmable as transmit or receive. Each channel implements a 64K x 16 FIFO and supports polling and/or interrupt driven operation. The card complies with the PCI ExpressTM Mini Card standard. It’s small size and suitability for Mini Card compatible computers make it a complete solution for developing, testing, integrating 708 interfaces and for performing system simulation of the ARINC 708/453 Weather Radar Display databuses, both in the lab and in the field. In Transmit mode, each ARINC 708 word is written to the FIFO as a block of 100 16-bit words. In Receive mode, each ARINC 708 word is stored in the FIFO as a block of 103 16-bit words. The first two words comprise the 32-bit Time Tag, indicating the word’s time stamp. The next 100 words comprise the 1600 bits of the ARINC 708 word, which are followed by the Status Word. The EXC-708mPCIe card comes complete with C drivers including source code.

Protocol Converter
MACC
-
When designing or upgrading avionics systems we are often faced with the task of integrating components that were not originally designed to work together.A control computer that communicates using RS-232 may need to control component that expects MIL-STD-1553 messages or an INS may put out ARINC-429 labels, which are needed by Multi function Display designed around RS-422.Faced with problems like these, integrators must choose between two poor options. They must either give up on one of the units in favor of another unit that may be less suitable but uses the appropriate communications spec; or they must add a computer system – often PC104 – which can translate from one unit to the other. These computers are generally large, heavy, hot, and require substantial power.
