The male pin adapter consists of standard high temperature FR4 with pressed in terminal pins and threaded inserts for mounting the socket. The top side of adapter has gold plated pads to receive socket interconnect and the bottom side has 0.006″ to 0.018″ diameter pin tails. These pins can be soldered to the plated thru holes in the target board. Then socket can be mounted to the threaded insert.

The Model T300U Trace-level CO analyzer has been developed specifically to address the challenges of low level monitoring as required, for example, in the US NCore network. Using IR absorption with a Gas Filter Correlation Wheel, the T300U is designed to allow ultra-sensitive CO measurements while still meeting the requirements for use as a US EPA compliance analyzer.The optical bench is enclosed in a temperature controlled oven, dramatically decreasing instrument noise and drift. The objective and field mirrors in the sample cell are gold plated to maximize signal to noise performance, while a temperature-controlled Nafion dryer on the inlet minimizes water interference caused by ambient humidity changes. Periodically, the T300U seamlessly corrects its baseline by routing the sample through a heated catalytic CO scrubber. The quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) is a variant of acoustic wave microsensors that are capable of ultrasensitive mass measurements. Under favorable conditions, a typical QCM can measure a mass change of 0.1-1 ng/cm2. QCM oscillates in a mechanically resonant shear mode under the influence of a high frequency AC electric field which is applied across the thickness of the crystal. Figure 1b below shows an edge view of a QCM crystal undergoing oscillatory shear distortion. The central portions of the top and bottom of the crystal are coated with a typically disk-shaped thin metal film (e.g., gold).

For longer wavelengths in the range 700nm – 20 µm, a gold coating on a rough, metallic surface is used. Since lasers in this spectral range are usually also high power, we use solid copper as a thermally conductive substrate material. By choosing the size of the integrating sphere, the overall sensitivity of the system can be adjusted. In addition, the detector is independent of inhomogeneities in power density and polarization. The detector is also independent of the incidence location and angle of the laser radiation.
