The VXI bus interface is also used to communicate with and control the external devices that are connected to an IP modules field I/O signals.

This single-slot, message-based board features up to 12 stimulus channels of 3-wire LVDT/RVDT, wraparound self-test, and onboard programmable excitation supply. The board is uniquely versatile, as each excitation input and output voltage is programmable. In addition, each channel can be programmed to be controlled by an external DC voltage. DP-VXI-4503 is a 80 channel, one Form C (SPDT) relay switch designed as a C size VXI module. This high density switch module is designed with a register based interface occupying only one VXI slot. This module uses two Form ‘C’ relay switches. Out of the two contacts in each relay, one is used to provide the status of the relay through read back and the other is used for switching purpose.The user can write the command for the selected channels on to the primary latch of the FPGA section. Readback is available to confirm the selected commands. On command, the data from the primary latch is transferred to the secondary latch. The relay driver section provides the necessary drive to switch ON the relays. The buffers in this section drive the relay coils.This module features a back plane trigger for VXI triggered operation. On receipt of the back plane trigger the programmed relays will be energised/de-energised. Alternatively, software trigger can be used.

DP-VXI-4017 is an 80 Channel Relay Multiplexer constructed using ‘2 Form A’ (DPST) relays. It is a ‘C’ size 1 slot register based VXI module. This 80 Channel Relay Multiplexer module is highly configurable. As an 80 channel multiplexer, one input can be multiplexed to any of the 80 outputs or vice versa. The 80 channel multiplexer is divided into 8 banks of 10 channels each. This combination allows the board to be used as one group of 80x1 or two groups of 40x1 or four groups of 20x1 or eight groups of 10x1 differential multiplexer. The banks are isolated from each other by tree switches. 8 tree switches are used, one tree switch for each bank. A common tree switch is used to group all the eight banks. For short circuit protection resistors are provided for all the common terminals.

The IIB-1553-VXI-4C is an intelligent interface card which provides 4 independent channels for full MIL-STD-1553 test, simulation and bus analysis functions on the VXI bus. All 1553A, 1553B, McAir and STANAG 3838 variants are supported. Each independent channel may be operated as a concurrent Bus Controller (BC) and up to 31 Remote Terminals (RT) with a windowed Bus Monitor (BM), or as a stand-alone Chronological Bus Monitor (CBM) with comprehensive multi-level triggering capability. Full error injection capability is provided in BC and RT modes, with full error detection in BC, RT, BM and CBM modes. Each channel provides a variable amplitude dual redundant 1553 interface, with 2 Mbytes of dual ported RAM. The board is supplied with C drivers in source code and Windows menu driven software as standard.
