Traditionally, SMD inductor evaluation up to 3 GHz has been difficult to implement. Now with the 16196 series, it’s easy to perform accurate and repeatable measurements.

Magnetic Material Test Fixture

The 16454A is designed for accurate permeability measurements of toroidal-shaped magnetic materials. Since the construction of this fixture creates one turn around the toroid (with no magnetic flux leakage), the need of winding a wire around the toroid is unnecessary. Complex permeability is calculated from the inductance with and without the toroid. When the E4991A/4291B with option 002 is used as the measurement instrument, direct readouts of complex permeability are possible. In addition, it is furnished with a small and a large fixture to adapt to a wide range of sizes.

The Eye-BERT MicroX is a compact, easy to use test solution offering high performance bit error rate testing at a fraction of the cost of competing solutions. The unit is offered in two speed grades including the X10 which operates up to 14.5Gbps, and the X30 which extends the data rate to 29Gbps. Its broad data rate capabilities and long test patterns make this unit suitable for testing nearly all optical SFP, SFP+, and SFP28 transceivers in production with just one unit. The real-time eye opening monitor and eye scanning capability can aid in troubleshooting by providing the operator with additional link quality information. The 40-196 is a 10 Channel 5A Fault Insertion Switch, primarily designed for the simulation of fault conditions in automotive & avionics applications involving the reliability testing of safety critical controllers. It is designed to be able to insert different fault conditions between the test fixture and the equipment under test: Open-Circuit, Short-Circuit between signal pairs, Short-Circuit between signal pairs and user applied fault conditions e.g. Power or GND. Shorting relays on each channel enable UUT signals to be subjected to external user applied fault conditions or to be shorted to the adjacent signal in the same channel. Relays in line with the signal allow open circuit conditions to be simulated on either side or both sides of a channel signal pair. The switching topology of the 40-196 allows channels to be interconnected so that complex fault insertion systems can be constructed.

Due to the adaptability of the instrumentation, the OTP concept offers an ideal platform even beyond the space requirements of several control cabinets. DC sources and loads with different current and voltage ranges cover the test of frequent DUT operating parameters.
