There are many LED manufactories using two integrating spheres and one spectrophotometer to do test. The previous testing way is: when you use big sphere to test, the customer need to connect the detector cable and optical fiber from the Spectrophotometer to the big sphere, after the calibrating and then you can do the test. When you use the small sphere, you need to take away the detector cable and optical fiber from the big sphere to the small sphere, then need to calibrate again. It is too troublesome to take out the detector cable and optical fiber between the big sphere and small sphere, and you need to calibrate again for every change. The frequent change will also shorten the life of the detector cable and optical fiber.

Optoplex Optical wavelength meter (OWM) uses proprietary thin-film interference filter in conjunction with Fabry-Perot cavity technology combined with a micro-actuator and high-speed electronics. Its working principle is schematically shown below. By comparison with Optical channel monitor / Optical performance monitor, the proprietary wavelength reference unit is introduced to ensure high precision wavelength measurements. Optoplex Optical wavelength meter is the only DWDM wavelength meter capable of measuring wavelengths of multi-lasers in DWDM networks over C-band and L-band wavelength range with a high accuracy better than that the wavelength locker can provide. For example, the device can simultaneously report 80 wavelength values of 80 channels at 50 GHz channel spacing with the wavelength accuracy ± 2 GHz. DPRAM, RS-232, or USB interfaces are available and OWM can be customized to meet specific requirements.

In a switchable interleaver, there are two operation modes: *Mode A: All pass *Mode B: InterleaverIn Mode A, the system operates at any channel spacing, in which all channels pass through the device and output from one of the two output ports as if there is no extra device inserted. When the system is switched to Mode B, the device operates as a normal optical interleaver, such 50-100GHz interleaver. The working principle is schematically shown below. In Mode B, the device could be a standard symmetric interleaver, or an asymmetric interleaver. Channel spacings are not limitted to 50-100GHz.
