Pre-compliance testing is specially useful for specifications such as FCC, Part 15, EN 55022 or EN 55011 (CISPR 22 or CISPR11). Pre-compliance testing usually means using the full compliance methods but making a few educated compromises in use of site or equipment to reduce costs and testing time. PD Defect Location in High-Voltage Equipment Insulation by Acoustic Sensors To act on deteriorating insulation the source of PD must be known.The insulation defects produce partial discharges, which emits electrical impulses, radiation of electromagnetic waves as well as acoustic signals.The AR700 measures acoustic signals with multiple sensors spread over the transformer. Then the software determines the failure location using the time difference of all incoming signals. Finally, these coordinates are shown in a 3D model of the transformer. AR700 device is used for measuring of acoustic signals on the external surfaces of gas-insulated breakers and substations, power transformers and other tank high-voltage equipment. The acoustic signals are caused by partial discharges in the insulation, which is the sigh of the defects.The advantage of “AR700” device is the quick installation of the acoustic PD sensors on the external surface of high-voltage equipment tank. The sensors have magnetic holder that is why there is no need to de-energize the equipment for the sensors installation. “AR700” device has 4 syn-chronic channels for acoustic signal measurement. This gives the possibility not only to find the defects in the insulation, but also to locate them. The location function of the “AR700”device is unique for acoustic devices.

Teledyne e2v HiRel Microdosimeter is a compact hybrid microcircuit which directly measures total ionizing dose (TID) absorbed by an internal silicon test mass. The test mass simulates silicon die of integrated circuits on-board a host spacecraft in critical mission payloads and subsystems. By accurately measuring the energy absorbed from electrons, protons, and gamma rays, an estimate of the dose absorbed by other electronic devices on the same vehicle can be made. The Microdosimeter can operate from a wide range of input voltages. The accumulated dose is presented to three dc linear outputs and one pseudo-logarithmic output giving a dose resolution of 14 µrads and a measurement range up to 40 krads. These outputs are intended to be directly connected to most analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) or spacecraft housekeeping analog inputs (0-5 V range), which makes minimal demands on the host vehicle. The Microdosimeter incorporates a test function to allow electrical testing of the hybrid without the need for a radiation source.
