Open-Short-Load RF calibration kits from Fairview Microwave are available with Type N or 7/16 DIN connectors. Type N open-short-load RF calibration kits have male or female genders, 7/16 DIN open-short-load kits are male gender. Type N open-short-load (OSL) calibration kits for RF have a minimum frequency of 0 (DC) and a maximum frequency range between 4 GHz and 6 GHz. Type N open short load kits for calibration have a maximum power handling of between 1 Watt and 2 Watts.

It can supply the device under test with single phase precise voltage and current with calibrated phase shift along with DC voltage and current capability. Frequency can be set from 15Hz to 1 kHz with resolution 0.001Hz to 0.01Hz. The 1U647-001 is a low cost calibration standard used to determine if a 1U632-100 or a 1U663-100 DMU requires factory calibration. Its portability makes it ideal for field-testing. The standard generates signals that simulate the aircraft’s resolvers, rotary variable transformers (RVTs), and linear variable displacement transformers (LVDTs). The unit also generates a pulse width modulated (PWM) signal, and routes the output of an ARINC 429 source to the different DMU input channels. The calibration standard connects directly to the DMU and replaces the output signals of an active extender card. Discrete switch settings simplify testing. The unit is housed in a rugged aluminum case.
