The OSA module acts as a stand-alone spectral engine, imaging and measuring a wide range of vapors, liquids and solids through transmission and diffuse reflection in a rapid non-destructive process. Leveraging our proprietary Micro-Optic technology, UC INSTRUMENTS’ C band OSA module features the following characteristics: (1) compact; (2) light-weight; (3) low power consumption; and (4) wide wavelength coverage. These characteristics of UC INSTRUMENTS’ compact OSA engines are suitable for a variety of handheld, portable or bench-top OSA/spectrometer applications. Equipped with a state-of-the-art internal wavelength reference, the OSA module is capable of precisely measuring optical spectrum. Because it does not require an expensive InGaAs detector array, the compact OSA module is a cost-effective alternative to other grating-based OSA/spectrometer engines. The OSA communicates with a PC or an instrument motherboard via an USB interface. UCINSTRUMENTS’ OSA module platform can be installed or co-packaged into existing NIR OSA/spectrometers as a cost-efficient alternative to other scanning optical engines.

TSI's Engine Exhaust Particle Sizer (EEPS™) 3090 spectrometer uses an array of sensitive electrometers, combined with three proprietary data inversion matrices, to provide real-time particle size data in 32 size channels (16 channels per decade). The data inversion matrices allow the researcher to optimize size distribution accuracy for specific particle types (soot, default and compact), and matrices can be applied at the time of measurement or in a post-processing environment. The EEPS spectrometer does not include any built-in sample dilution, giving the user maximum flexibility and independence with respect to sample conditioning. However, for measuring solid particles from engines, TSI now offers the Porous Tube Thermodiluter (PTT) 3098, a fully integrated sample conditioning solution for the EEPS spectrometer; the pair of them together is the Engine Exhaust Particle Measurement System (EEPMS) 3095.

By utilizing the triangulation technique the reflection of a laser line or multiple laser spots onto the PSD array will provide information about the contour of the illuminated object. The possibility for simultaneous readout of the 16 elements together with the fast response of each element makes the PSD array suitable for applications like high speed 3D contour measurements and measurements of parallel, moving objects such as cantilevers.

Temperature Sensors

The infrared sensor measures temperature at a distance without contacting the target. The integrated infrared module senses the thermal radiation emitted by objects on a 16 x 4 array of sensing points, for measuring the temperature distribution across a surface. These 64 measurement pixels are transmitted via CAN to the host controller or data logging device. The sensor is available in both 35 and 60 field of view options to suit a variety of installations. A software package is provided for viewing live temperature data from the array.

CMAS probes are made from user-specified sensing materials, including carbon steels, stainless steels, and nickel-, aluminum-, and copper-based alloys. They can also be made from customer supplied materials that have the same microstructure/heat treatment as the system component materials to be monitored. The size of the sensing electrode varies from 0.1 to 3 mm (0.004" to 0.12") in diameter, depending on the application. Typical numbers of electrodes in a CMAS probe are 9, 16 or 25 for online corrosion monitoring and vary from 8 to 100 for laboratory corrosion and electrochemical studies.
