These synthesizers offer frequency coverage from 250 MHz to 18 GHz (ACS-25018) or 850 MHz to 18 GHz (ACS-85018) and frequency resolution under 0.1 Hz. The agile design offers typical switching speeds of less than 300 nsec and programmable amplitude from 0 to +10 dBm from frequency-to-frequency. Spurious performance is typically <-70 dBc. VI Systems GmbH introduces the fiber coupled 850nm vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) transmitter module VM64-850M for data rates of up to 80 Gbit/s. The transmitter module features a V-connector for the electrical input signal and for the optical output a 50/125 multi mode fiber which is terminated with a standard FC/PC connector. The left picture below shows the module. The picture on the right shows an optical eye diagram at 32 Gbaud (64 Gbit/s) in a back-to-back test configuration as tested by partners at the Heinrich Hertz Institute in Berlin.
