Event Detector
The Event Detector automatically extracts sound events from an entire sound file according to the user's event specifications. The user digitizes sound data into a continuous sound file, then configures the Event Detector for the events of interest. Detection is based on spectral, temporal, and amplitude criteria. The detector scans the entire file, identifying the desired events and extracting them to individual sound files or measuring their parameters. Detected events can be immediately analyzed in SIGNAL to measure, count, compare, classify, time-stamp, and store sound events and sound parameters. The Event Detector is a module inside SIGNAL and requires SIGNAL to operate.

EVISION Obstacle Detector
MS 1528
Obstacle Detector is a distance-measuring system based on ultrasonic sound utilizing the LPC2364FBD100. The system transmits a burst of ultrasonic sound waves towards the subject and then receives the corresponding echo. The LPC2364FBD100 integrated analog comparator is used to detect the arrival of the echo to the system. The time taken for the ultrasonic burst to travel the distance from the system to the subject and back to the system is accurately measured by the LPC2364FBD100. Assuming the speed of sound in air at room temperature to be 1100 ft/s, the LPC2364FBD100 computes the distance between the system and the subject and gives the information to buzzer. The minimum distance that this system can measure is eight inches and is limited by the transmitter’s transducer settling-time. The maximum distance that can be measured is 2 meter. The amplitude of the echo depends on the reflecting material, shape, and size. Sound-absorbing targets such as carpets and reflecting surfaces less than two square feet in area reflect poorly. The maximum measurable range is lower for such subjects. If the amplitude of the echo received by the system is so low that it is not detectable by the Comparator. The IIB-3910-VXI is message based intelligent interface card for dual redundant 3910 and 3838 applications. It gives full 3910 and 3838 test, simulation and bus analysis capability on the VXI bus, providing 3910, 3838 1553A, and 1553B variants in a single card. The 378A04 is a matched system that is comprised of a high sensitivity microphone and a low noise preamplifier that contains a built-in filter that enables the free-field response to remain flat over a wide frequency range. The new design of these transition time converters ensures very low signal reflection far beyond the 3 dB point, unlike conventional converters. Reducing the signal transition-times also increases the overall pulse-performance for overshoot/reflection sensitive applications. The converters are fitted with SMA connectors, one male, one female. These converters have been designed to convert the fixed transition-times of the Keysight 8133A 3 GHz timing generator (<100 ps transitions) to slower, fixed transition-times (150 ps, 250 ps, 500 ps, 1 ns, 2 ns) hence reducing the signal bandwidth. All transition-times are from 10% to 90% of amplitude.
