Front End Protector
AS-RXFEP RX
The AS-RXFEP Receiver protector limits input RF signal threshold from 1 to 150MHz to less than 0.3 Vrms to protect a receiver front end from damage due to nearby transmitted signals. The receiver still actsnormally and measured signal strength is not affected.The circuit uses a multi-stage design of transformer saturation coupling and current limiters. It also incorporates a low voltage GDT to protect from lightning events. These are for receiving only - you cannot transmit through them without damaging the unit.

The input section features the unique servo bias input circuitry with a standard TA5M type jack for use with electret lavaliere mics, dynamic mics, or line level signals. A DSP-controlled analog audio limiter is employed before the A-D converter. The limiter has a range of more than 30 dB for excellent overload protection and a dual release envelope that makes the limiter acoustically transparent while maintaining low distortion. The limiter recovers quickly from brief transients, with no audible side effects, and also recovers slowly from sustained high levels to keep audio distortion low while preserving short term dynamics.

LISN & Voltage Probes
All commercial LISNs include an artificial hand connection and a transient limiter. This adds a 30dB insertion loss. A 30dB pre-amplifier is included which can be connected in the RF output feed to return the insertion loss to 0dB. The Voltage Probe requirement is covered by our PLIP (Power LIne Interference Probe). Transient Limiters
Transient limiter LIT-153A and LIT-930A protects a spectrum analyzer input from high-level transients from the line impedance stabilization networks during EMC conducted emissions testing. It has a combined frequency range of 9 kHz to 30 MHz. The built in high pass filter helps reduce 50/60 Hz line feed through. (see application notes)

LIMITER P-I-N DIODES FROM 0.7 TO 9.55 GHz
They prevent failure of of input amplifying stage of low-noise receivers with radio pulse power up to 5000 Watt. They can also be applied as seperate units without power supply and acting as controlled switches.
