NAI’s 64PW2 is a 6U VME Servo Motor Driver/Amplifier Board featuring a dual, four-quadrant, bi-directional, PWM servo amplifier. Specifically targeted for DC servo motor applications, this board has an amplified power stage that uses a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) control signal to provide motor control for both brush and brushless motors. Each motor drive accepts a 65 VDC power input and provides a 5 Amp maximum continuous current output (8.5 Amp peak).

The Slip-Ring Motor Starters are based on the series of resistors that are applied to the rotor circuit to control the speed/torque characteristics of the motor. Rotor starters are mainly used for the motor starting applications requiring high-starting torque like loaded belt conveyors in mining industry. By external resistors, it is possible to shift the motor maximum (break-down) torque up to starting torque point for motors under heavy loads during start-up. The resistors are splitted into some steps and controlled via contactors by motor starting control system. As the motor speed increases, the external rotor resistors are eliminated by shorting contactors until all external resistors are shorted out.

The purpose of the development of the 4535 was to deliver the same quality and reliability of our 32XX motors but at nearly 4x the power. Starting at the core of the motor, the 4535 uses the highest grade of sintered samarium-cobalt magnet. Unlike hobby grade neodymium magnets, these samarium-cobalt magnets are able to withstand high operating temperatures without losing magnetic strength or experiencing permanent demagnetization. Ultra-thin laminations are used in the stator to ensure minimal iron losses and maximize efficiency. All components of the motor are rated to at least 200°C to handle high continuous and burst power. Finally, to ensure manufacturing quality, all 4535 motors are designed and manufactured in Astro Flight's facility in Irvine, CA.
