Virtual SBC
What is a virtual session border controller or virtualized SBC? Traditionally, a session border controller (SBC) is a device positioned between carrier networks or between an enterprise LAN and a service-provider WAN. In the latter case, the border controller is called an enterprise session border controller or eSBC. Whether it is delivered as a dedicated hardware session border controller or a virtualized network function, (a.k.a. software SBC) the border controller manages call (session) setup and teardown. The SBC also provides network demarcation (demarc), or separation (border) between network domains, as well as other types of management (control) over the data streams that pass between networks. With the growing popularity of software defined networking (SDN) and the burgeoning market development and adoption of network function virtualization (NFV), eSBC functionality is more and more often de-coupled from a dedicated hardware device and delivered as a virtual instance running as a virtual machine (VM) on top of a hypervisor. It is generally not well understood in the market why an eSBC is such a critical network element for a secure and reliable SIP-based enterprise phone system. Wireless In-Circuit Test Fixtures
Higher density more complex circuit boards complicate testing requirements while smaller more tightly spaced test pads create a wiring challenge for the fixture fabricators, test engineers and maintenance personnel. Wireless fixtures solve the challenges associated with the nest of wires found in standard long wire fixtures. Wireless fixtures replace the “nest” of wires with copper traces on a multilayered printed circuit board called a Translator Board or T-Board®. Flash Vs. Scan
A LiDAR system can observe the complete field of view (FOV) at once, called Flash systems. Flash typically works well for short to mid-range (0-100m), and by capturing the complete scene at once also objects with high relative speeds can be detected properly. Another implementation is to focus on a subset of the FOV, consequentially look at the next subsets, until the complete FOV is covered, called Scanning. Scanning can focus the light on the subset instead of the full FOV, and therefore can do object detection at a longer range compared to Flash.

The M8KSerial is an enhanced serial interface module for the multiprotocol Excalibur 8000 family of carrier boards, that includes several advanced features such as a high baud rate and high throughput. This module supports up to two independent channels of serial communications, each of which can be selected as RS-485, RS-422 or RS-232. The module operates independently of the host computer, reducing the need for host intervention.The M8KSerial module is based on the Exar XR16M570 Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (UART). The device is compatible to industry standard 16550 UARTs. Each of the M4KSerialPlus’s four channels contains a transmit FIFO capable of holding up to 16384 bytes and a receive FIFO capable of holding either 16384 receive bytes or 5460 bytes with a 32-bit Time Tag associated with each byte. These large buffers allow application code to transfer large quantities of data with a single non-blocking subroutine call. The 32-bit Time Tag on receive channels is very useful for synchronizing serial data with data from other modules on the 8000 board or on other interface boards. Each channel has a programmable baud rate of up to 10 Mbps and can be configured as RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485.The M8KSerial module is supplied with C drivers, including source code.
